Milan, Sept. 2 (LaPresse) – “This version being circulated is too simplistic and absolutely instrumental. There is no deal here.”
This was stated by the president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, during an interview on Non Stop News on Rtl 102.5, responding to a question about the alleged agreement with PD leader Elly Schlein regarding Roberto Fico as the center-left candidate in Campania and his son Piero De Luca as regional PD secretary.

“First of all, I never give up my reasoning and my evaluations. Period. Second – and this is another example of the degeneration of public life in our country – a deal with whom? About what? Do you think anyone questioned the fact that for two and a half years the PD in Campania was, as I say, ‘seized’? What happened was simply a political act of civility: a decision was made to restore order in Campania and to elect the party’s bodies,” he added.

“As for Piero, he’s a political leader with 25 years of experience. He doesn’t live off politics. He’s a university professor and could carry on a professional life, live comfortably, and avoid poisoning his life,” De Luca concluded.
