Rome, Aug 27 (LaPresse) – "I have filed a criminal complaint against the forum site Phica, which I discovered had for years been stealing photos and clips from TV programs I took part in, modifying them and feeding them to thousands of users. This was followed by a long list of obscene comments that damage not only my emotional sphere but also the safety of many women exposed to this disgusting new form of posting photos without consent," wrote PD MEP Alessandra Moretti on social media. "What matters most to me is that everyone reacts and reports these groups of little men who continue to act with impunity despite the many complaints. The fight against gender violence must be a shared cause between women and men, because the problem of violence lies with men and we are its victims. These kinds of sites that incite rape and violence must be shut down and banned. I urge everyone to report en masse. We have had several examples of how women are exposed and treated as bargaining chips, starting from the 'My Wife' group, but precisely because it can happen to all of us, and especially to younger women, those with greater visibility and responsibility, as in my case, must take the lead in defending rights and, I add, in defending women’s safety: violence breeds violence," she concluded.
