Ukraine, Gozi: "Italy and France are friendly and allied countries, mutual respect is needed"

Rome, Aug. 23 (LaPresse) – “No French minister has insulted Meloni or other Italian ministers the way Salvini has against Macron. Personal likes or dislikes don’t matter in international relations between friendly and allied countries like France and Italy, especially now when both are jointly engaged in such a delicate geopolitical phase in Europe and Ukraine: mutual respect is necessary.” So said Sandro Gozi, MEP elected in France with Renew and Secretary General of the European Democratic Party, to LaPresse, after Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini's attacks on President Emmanuel Macron for his support of sending troops to Ukraine, which led France to summon the Italian ambassador to Paris, Emanuela D'Alessandro.
