Leoncavallo, Sisto: ‘It is dangerous to say that culture comes before legality’

Rome, 22 August (LaPresse) – "It is wrong and dangerous to argue that culture, as it is understood, comes before respect for the law. When, in the past, someone has suggested this reversal of roles, it has compromised the solidity of democratic structures. At Leoncavallo, there has been a blatant violation of every rule for thirty years. Mayor Sala, knowing this situation and expressing his regret today, could and should have found solutions, obviously always in compliance with the law. He did not do so. And so, in the face of this blatant illegality, the State intervened, opting for the correct application of the rules. Without further victimisation, this is confirmation of our government's commitment to respecting the legal system. This commitment has been demonstrated, precisely in order to combat the scourge of illegal occupation of other people's property, in the approval of specific provisions in the security decree'. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Justice Francesco Paolo Sisto on “Agorà Estate” on Rai Tre.
