Rome, August 9 (LaPresse) – Matteo Salvini joined a video call with the Veneto regional leadership of the League party to assess the situation ahead of the upcoming regional elections and reiterated the League’s request to nominate the next center-right presidential candidate.
According to a party statement, the League currently has 11,000 members and over 160 mayors in the region. Ahead of the elections, 158 individuals have already expressed willingness to run, potentially enabling the formation of up to three electoral lists.
“These numbers,” Salvini said, “demonstrate the overwhelming strength of the League in Veneto. The excellent governance ensured in recent years under Luca Zaia must not be lost.”
