Rome, 8 August (LaPresse) – Donald Trump, according to reports, sounded out Italy's willingness yesterday during a phone call with Giorgia Meloni to host a meeting in Rome on the war in Ukraine between the US president, Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky, to be held as early as next Monday. The prime minister is said to have welcomed the request, but the idea has already been ruled out due to Moscow's opposition, which considers Italy too aligned with Kiev.
