Rome, 2 August (LaPresse) – ‘On 2 August 45 years ago, the Italian people experienced one of the darkest days in their history. Terrorism struck with all its ferocity in the city of Bologna, with an attack that destroyed the station, killing 85 people and injuring over two hundred.’ This was stated by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the 45th anniversary of the Bologna station massacre. The Prime Minister added: "Today, we stand with the families of the victims and all the people of Bologna, and we join them in their grief and their demand for justice. The government will continue to do its part in this process to arrive at the full truth about the massacres that shook the nation in the post-war period, starting with the commitment made together with the other competent administrations to transfer the declassified documents to the Central State Archives, in a climate of collaboration with the associations of the victims' families."
