Rome, 30 July. (LaPresse) – Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni had a telephone conversation this evening with the Prime Minister of the State of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu. This was reported in a statement issued by Palazzo Chigi. The Prime Minister, the statement continues, “insisted on the need to immediately end hostilities, given the situation in Gaza, which she stressed is unsustainable and unjustifiable”. “The conversation,” continues Palazzo Chigi, “was also an opportunity to reiterate the urgent need to ensure full and unhindered humanitarian access to the civilian population, renewing Italy's commitment in this area through the Food for Gaza initiative. Thanks to Italy's commitment, an additional 50 Palestinian civilians will be welcomed and aid for the people of Gaza will be organised”.
