Rome, 19 July (LaPresse) – ‘It would be too convenient for the PD to dump Beppe Sala now. But the problem is his council, which is putting Milan at risk of paralysis.’ This was stated by Senate President Ignazio La Russa in an interview with Corriere della Sera. For La Russa, Sala "must not be used as a scapegoat. It would be easy for the party: he cannot be re-elected, so they blame him and that's the end of it. No way.‘ Schlein said we are moving forward? ’It's the least we could do,‘ replied La Russa. ’If a player misses a penalty, sometimes the coach who put him on the field pays the price. That's why I'm not talking about him but about the council." ‘Let justice take its course,’ he added. ‘Politics is another matter. This affair has served to turn the spotlight on the issue. I am making a political assessment’ that ‘is independent of these measures by the judiciary, which are still to be examined,’ namely, ‘the sooner this council goes, the better.’
