Rome, 11 July (LaPresse) – "Minister Nordio would say anything at this point to avoid taking responsibility. Some very serious facts have emerged in recent days. The minister lied in Parliament because it emerged that the ministry knew shortly after the arrest of the criminal Almasri, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court, and could therefore have prevented him from being released and sent back to Libya on a government flight to continue being tortured." These were the words of Democratic Party secretary Elly Schlein on her arrival at the PD Industry Forum. "This is a torturer accused of raping children, which is extremely serious: in the last few days, Libya has asked Almasri to appear in court, but instead Italy has allowed a criminal of this kind to be released and sent home. A minister who lied to Parliament, and therefore lied to the country, cannot remain in office for a minute longer, and the first person to call for his resignation in the interests of the dignity of these institutions is Prime Minister Meloni herself."
