Rome, 7 July (LaPresse) – ‘We discussed Europe during our meeting, which was created to ensure peace for a continent torn apart by centuries of fratricidal wars, a peace that has lasted for more than 70 years in Europe and is a condition that also serves as a model for the rest of the international community.’ These were the words of Italian President Sergio Mattarella after his meeting with Croatian President Zoran Milanovic in Zagreb. ‘This vocation for peace of the EU is clearly shared and supported by Croatia and Italy, with a common goal of restoring to the international community, at such a dramatic and troubled time, with so many distressing wars, a model of peaceful coexistence that has been disrupted in recent years,’ added the Head of State.
