Rome, 17 June (LaPresse) – "There has been much debate about the impoverishment caused by the transfer of so much energy abroad. Today, in the global multilateral context, the so-called “new mobility” has gained ground, consisting of energy in motion from all social backgrounds and professional categories, including, of course, many young people. Among them are about half a million graduates who, over the last 15 years, have left Italy for destinations such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain and the United States to invest in their future, bringing with them talent, passion and determination, contributing once again to the development of their host countries." These were the words of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, speaking at the meeting with the General Council of Italians Abroad at the Quirinale. "It is the result of that global dimension, that drive for unity, which stems from the awareness of a common destiny for humanity. For the younger generations – especially when it is not a choice made necessary by a lack of adequate prospects in our country -experience abroad is often part of an enriching journey, which can precede a return, with a different dynamic from the past, in which departure and return create a reality of communicating vessels capable of enriching each other, as well as representing a permanent challenge for Italy to be attractive," added the Head of State.
