Rome, June 5 (LaPresse) – “Why did I choose to say that I will go to the polling station but not take the ballot? Quite simply, I said I will go because I am the Prime Minister and I believe it is right to show respect for the vote and the institution of the referendum. However, I do not agree with the content of the referendums and, as has always been the case in our nation’s history, when you don’t agree, abstention is also an option.
Because, as a serious political party in Italy teaches us, not voting in a referendum is my right—it is everyone’s right, for workers and non-workers alike,” said Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, speaking at the second edition of ‘Il giorno de La Verità’ held at Palazzo Brancaccio in Rome.
