Cagliari, May 28 (LaPresse) – The Court of Cagliari has rejected the appeal filed by the President of the Region of Sardinia, Alessandra Todde, against the disqualification order issued by the Regional Electoral Guarantee Board at the Court of Appeal. The measure, adopted on December 20, 2024, and notified on January 3, challenges the legality of the expenses incurred by the president during the electoral campaign for the regional elections held in February 2024. The final decision on Todde’s disqualification, confirmed by the judges, will now be up to the Regional Council. Among the irregularities identified by the Electoral Board judges are the failure to open a dedicated bank account for campaign financing and the absence of an electoral representative—both necessary elements to ensure transparency in campaign funding.
