Genoa, 23 May (LaPresse) – ‘I do not agree with referendums, particularly the one that halves the time required for citizenship. I am the owner of my vote, I cannot control my partner's vote, so I do not tell others what to do. I express my reasoning. The best way to ensure the failure of the referendum is for it not to reach the quorum.’ These were the words of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure Matteo Salvini, in Genoa for an inspection of the sub-port tunnel construction site. ‘If people want to vote yes, no or maybe, they are free to do so. But for those who want the referendum to fail, the best way is not to vote on 8 and 9 June.’ Referendum, Salvini: ‘The best way for it to fail is not to vote.’
