Rome, May 21 (LaPresse) – “We condemned Hamas’ terrorist attacks on October 7 immediately and unequivocally. We expressed solidarity with the victims. But stop saying this is a military operation to free hostages – this is not a counterterrorism mission: this is ethnic cleansing.” So said Five Star Movement (M5S) leader Giuseppe Conte during a speech in the Chamber of Deputies during the vote on motions related to the evolving situation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. “I want to make a commitment,” Conte continued. “We will fight so that Netanyahu’s war crimes – this affront to humanity – are prosecuted, and those responsible brought to justice and punished. The court of history must speak and not forget this disgrace. Their bloodstained hands will find an Italy standing tall – one that does not accept a gag, that is not silent and complicit.”
