Rome, May 16 (LaPresse) – "The serious accusations made by members of the government against the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Taranto — of having caused the irreversible deterioration of part of the former Ilva’s facilities and of having provided a false account of events — are unfounded and must be firmly rejected.
The judiciary, in this case as well, has acted and will continue to act responsibly and in strict compliance with the law.
We call on politicians to take responsibility for their own decisions and refrain from blaming magistrates for problems that are in no way attributable to their actions.
To the colleagues targeted by these unjustified accusations, we express our full solidarity and the support of the entire magistrates’ association.”
This was stated in a note by the Central Executive Committee of the National Magistrates Association (ANM).
