Rome, 15 May (LaPresse) – "What you are doing is rejecting a different interpretation of life that has always existed, namely that social life is exhausted in the affirmation of one's own personal interests, indifferent to those of others or often even trampling on the needs of others. What you have done with your behaviour‘ is ’an alternative model to that other version that withers social life and even those who practise and pursue it because it reduces human life to a sum of solitudes that clash with each other, and this makes society and people withered." These were the words of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, during his meeting at the Quirinale with the new Alfieri della Repubblica (Standard Bearers of the Republic) for the presentation of certificates of honour.
