Brussels, April 3 (LaPresse) – The meeting with European Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic went "very well. We addressed the situation, also in view of the conversation he will have tomorrow with the Americans and the Council meeting on Monday in Luxembourg. I reiterated Italy's position: we must avoid a tariff war, and it seems that Sefcovic is absolutely in agreement on this, which is also the position expressed by von der Leyen. We need to move forward with negotiations with the United States, and it is clear that a decision will eventually have to be made regarding the imposition of tariffs on certain American products to respond to the tariffs that have been imposed on aluminum and aluminum-derived products." This was said by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani in a press briefing during the NATO Foreign Ministers' meeting in Brussels.
