Rome, 3 Apr. (LaPresse) – ’With another nocturnal blitz the ruling right wing wants to rewrite the democratic rules to its advantage, this is unacceptable. The right is trying to make an electoral law for municipalities to their own liking, affecting the ballot in municipalities with more than 15,000 inhabitants with an amendment that reduces the threshold to elect the mayor to 40% in the first round. We ask for the withdrawal of this amendment that we consider a serious provocation. If the amendment is not withdrawn, we will use all possible parliamentary means to oppose this havoc’.
