Rome, 25 Mar. (LaPresse) – The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, held talks with the European Union Commissioner for International Partnerships, Josef Síkela, during his visit to Italy. According to a press release from Palazzo Chigi, the main topic of the meeting was ‘the development of wide-ranging collaborations between the European Union and the Southern Neighbourhood and African Nations, as well as the synergies between the Mattei Plan and the European Union's Global Gateway Strategy’. In this regard, the press release states that the Prime Minister and the Commissioner ‘agreed on the importance of the event organised by Italy together with the European Union for sector operators, “The Mattei Plan for Africa and the European Union's Global Gateway Strategy: a joint effort with the African continent”, scheduled to take place in Rome on 27 March’.
