Moro, La Russa: ‘Remembering dark page and freedom that defeated terrorism’.

Rome, 16 Mar. (LaPresse) – ‘On 16 March 1978, Via Fani in Rome became the scene of one of the darkest and most painful pages of our republican history with the kidnapping of Aldo Moro and the killing of his five escorts: Raffaele Iozzino, Oreste Leonardi, Domenico Ricci, Giulio Rivera and Francesco Zizzi. It was a direct attack by the Red Brigades on the State and democratic values. A deep wound that shook Italy but from which we knew how to react with strength and unity in defence of democratic values. Renewing the memory of that attack today means honouring the memory of courageous men but also reaffirming the value of freedom that defeated terrorism and fear'. Thus on social media the President of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa.
