Ancona, March 15 (LaPresse) – "Since I have been attending the conventions and assemblies of the League on tariffs, I have always heard discussions. But not as a punitive attitude or as a tool to defend an unfair privilege. I have always conceived tariffs as a way to restore a level playing field compared to others who do not respect even the basic rules, to ensure what is real competition." This was stated by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Giancarlo Giorgetti, speaking at the event "Tutta un'altra economia – la sfida del valore" in Ancona. He also commented on Trump: "He wants to impose them because he thinks it is the way to defend American businesses. I say that this is a good opportunity to discuss how to defend the rightful rights of Italian businesses, especially the thousands of entrepreneurs who have had to close due to unfair competition. I hope G20 and G7 meetings are no longer held because they only create confusion. I think it’s the right time to rewrite the rules of global competition."
