Cagliari, February 18 (LaPresse) – The regional council has approved motion number 35, signed by the majority leaders, which commits the regional government to filing an appeal with the Constitutional Court for a conflict of powers regarding the expected removal of President Alessandra Todde, following a decision by the Regional Electoral Guarantee Board of the Cagliari Court of Appeal. The motion was approved with 31 votes in favor and a single vote against by Gianni Chessa, who was asked by the council president to remain in the chamber as secretary for the vote. The approved text stipulates that the government must "promptly" deliberate the appeal, to be submitted by March 4, 2025, and take any other legal action necessary to restore the violated legality. President Todde was absent.
