Rome, Jan. 15 (LaPresse) – On New Year’s Eve in Milan, "a total of 2,745 people were checked, and of these, 50 were removed due to the implementation of 'red zones,' while on New Year’s Day, 2,252 individuals were checked, with 9 removals," said Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi during question time at the Chamber of Deputies.

"Nevertheless, some incidents occurred involving the expression of grave offensive remarks against the Nation and the Police Forces, which, thanks to subsequent police actions, did not go without consequences," he stated. "Those involved were identified both through the numerous checks conducted on-site and through careful analysis of photos and videos shared on social media. Fourteen individuals were reported to the judicial authorities for the crimes of vilification of the Republic, Constitutional Institutions, the Armed Forces, and the Italian Nation."

"Two foreign youths, one identified through available videos and the other stopped and checked in Piazza Duomo, were detained at the Milan CPR (Repatriation Center) on Via Corelli and repatriated on January 7," he added.
