Turin, 9 July (LaPresse) – Earthquake at Red Bull. Christian Horner, CEO and team principal of the team, ‘will leave the team with immediate effect,’ according to a statement. He will be replaced by Racing Bulls team principal Laurent Mekies. Horner and Red Bull part ways after twenty years: the former British driver has led the Austrian team since its first season in Formula 1 in 2005, ‘playing a key role in the transition from a team fighting for points to a world championship-winning team.’ The current racing director of Racing Bulls, Alan Permane, will be promoted to team principal following Mekies' move to Red Bull.
