Clashes in Turin: fan injured during the Turin derby has come out of a coma

Rome, 30 May (LaPresse) – Marco Leonardo Basoccu, the Juventus fan who was seriously injured in the clashes that took place before the Turin derby between Torino and Juventus, has come out of a coma. The man had been struck by a blunt object and rushed to hospital with a serious head injury. Molinette Hospital has reported that the patient “is awake and interacting with his surroundings”, although he remains under light sedation to manage the pain. Doctors speak of a significant improvement, particularly from a neurological perspective, but he remains in intensive care and his prognosis remains uncertain. Meanwhile, police investigations are continuing to clarify the circumstances of the violent clashes and establish who may be responsible. At present, the case file opened by the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office suggests the offence of grievous bodily harm.
