Rome, 28 May (LaPresse) – A historic turning point in the world of Scouting. The council of AGESCI, the Association of Italian Catholic Guides and Scouts, has approved a document stating that “sexual orientation and gender identity cannot constitute grounds for exclusion” from becoming a guide. The approved document, as explained on the association’s website, is the result of a process launched by AGESCI in 2022 “based on listening, discussion and reflection”, in which the association was given a mandate to initiate “initiatives capable of creating spaces and opportunities for listening aimed at LGBTQIA+ people”.
