Milan, 4 May (LaPresse) – The Milan Assize Court has sentenced Chinese nationals Shu Zou and his uncle Liu Chongbing to 17 years’ imprisonment each for the murder of Eros di Ronza, the troubled 37-year-old who, on 17 October 2024, had attempted to steal scratch cards from the family’s bar on Viale Giovanni da Cermenate in Milan, and was chased, thrown to the ground and stabbed “44 times” with a pair of scissors. Presiding Judge Antonella Bertoja, alongside Associate Judge Sofia Fioretta and the lay judges, ruled out the aggravating circumstance of cruelty sought by the public prosecutor, Maura Ripamonti, for both defendants, but sentenced them to a term of 14 years, which is longer than the 14 years sought by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
