Roma, May 2. (LaPresse) – A sit-in was held this morning in front of the Farnesina, “open to all citizens, to demand the immediate release of all Italian activists and those travelling on vessels flying the Italian flag, the interruption of relations with Israel, sanctions and an embargo, and the release of all Palestinian political prisoners,” a statement reads. “At 12:00,” the note continues, “a press conference will be held to involve public opinion and urge immediate intervention by the Italian government regarding the detention of two activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla, which took place in international waters during the navigation of a vessel flying the Italian flag. Maria Elena Delia, spokesperson for Global Sumud Italia, will be present.”
