Rome, 30 March (LaPresse) – In the early hours of this morning in Castel San Giovanni, the Carabinieri from the Piacenza Investigative Unit executed a pre-trial detention order issued by the Piacenza investigating magistrate at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, against two suspects: the wife and son of an 85-year-old man found dead in his home on 25 October 2025. The suspects are strongly suspected of complicity in ill-treatment and unlawful detention (both family members) and aggravated murder (a charge levelled only at the victim’s son). “The investigations,” the Carabinieri emphasise, “have revealed a pattern of severe and prolonged suffering inflicted on the elderly man.”
