Rome, 20 March (LaPresse) – Investigators suspect that Alessandro Mercogliano and Sara Ardizzone, two members of the anarchist movement linked to Alfredo Cospito who died when the farmhouse in Capannelle, in Rome’s Parco degli Acquedotti, collapsed, were preparing an attack. Among the theories being examined is that the device they were assembling at the time of the explosion was intended for an attack to be carried out in the coming weeks. It cannot be ruled out that the targets might have included the railway, not far from the “Casale del Sellaretto” where the explosion occurred, and some offices of the Leonardo group, as well as a possible relaunch of the campaign in support of the anarchist Cospito, whose 41bis detention regime is due to end in May. The possibility of a demonstration ahead of the mass march on 28 March, ‘Together. Against kings and their wars’ and ‘pro Askatasuna’, scheduled to take place in Rome, has also been considered.
