L’Aquila, Mar. 7 (LaPresse) – “Children at home with their parents” and “Stop abuse against minors.” These are the messages displayed on an Italian tricolour flag stretched along the guardrail in front of the foster home hosting the children of Nathan Trevallion and Catherine Birmingham, the couple known as the “family in the woods” from Palmoli. Today’s mobilization was organized by the committee Comitato Difesa Minori, which promoted a candlelight vigil in front of the reception facility, gathering support from several national associations and political movements. Tensions around the case increased following the court order issued yesterday that mandated the urgent removal of the mother. Many people gathered in the area to express solidarity with the parents and brought toys and teddy bears as gifts for the children.
