Nola (Naples), 4 March (LaPresse) – Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni arrived at Nola Cathedral for the funeral of little Domenico Caliendo, the two-year-old boy who died on 21 February at Monaldi Hospital in Naples, where he had undergone a heart transplant with a damaged organ. Present in the church were the president of the Campania Region, Roberto Fico, the metropolitan mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, the mayors of Nola, Andrea Ruggiero, and Taurano (Avellino), Michele Buonfiglio, together with the prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari. The funeral ceremony was presided over by the bishop of Nola, Monsignor Francesco Marino. Some of those present in the church wore white T-shirts with the face of little Domenico and the words “Our warrior”. A long banner was displayed in the square with the words “None of this makes any sense, let nothing go unpunished. Your memory will never fade. Justice for Domenico”.
