Milan, 25 February (LaPresse) – ‘Immediately after the arrest ordered by the judicial authorities, I instructed the Milan police commissioner to appoint an investigating officer to initiate disciplinary proceedings for the dismissal of Carmelo Cinturrino from the State Police’. This was stated by the chief of police, Vittorio Pisani, in an interview with Corriere della Sera. When asked by the interviewer whether the decision had been taken without waiting for the outcome, at least in part, of the criminal proceedings, Pisani replied: "Yes, because those who betray our mission first and foremost betray their oath of allegiance to the Republic. Usually, we wait at least until the indictment, but this case is quite clear and extremely serious, so for us he must be dismissed immediately. Criminal proceedings take time, while disciplinary action makes sense if it is timely, otherwise it risks losing its meaning.‘ On what aspects still need to be clarified in the investigation into the events in Rogoredo, Pisani says: ’First of all, the position of the other police officers involved, for whom further legal charges could be brought, in addition to aiding and abetting and failure to provide assistance."
