Rome, 15 February (LaPresse) – ‘It is not enough not to kill a person physically, if I then kill them with words or do not respect their dignity.’ So said Pope Leo XIV at the Angelus in St. Peter's Square. The Pontiff then recalled: ‘Jesus teaches us that true justice is love and that, within every precept of the Law, we must grasp a need for love.’ The Pontiff then emphasised another point: "It is not enough to be formally faithful to one's spouse and not commit adultery if this relationship lacks mutual tenderness, listening, respect, caring for him or her and walking together in a common project. We could add other examples to these, which Jesus himself offers us. The Gospel offers us this precious teaching: minimal justice is not enough; we need great love, which is possible thanks to the power of God."
