Milan, Jan. 16 (LaPresse) – Glovo has deleted all data related to riders’ work shifts following instructions from its own privacy officer. This was stated in court in Milan by the general manager for Italy, Rafael Narvaez Gracia, during a lawsuit filed by four riders against Foodinho srl for recognition of an employment or quasi-employment relationship and the payment of wage and contribution differences from 2019 to 2025. According to the minutes of the hearing on January 13, the decision to delete “historical” data was made starting from May 19, 2025, making it impossible to produce the documentation requested by the judge regarding shifts and the incentive system. The company argued that the data no longer exist following the abolition of the incentive system, but the riders’ defense described this explanation as implausible, noting that in another similar case the data were deposited. Foodinho proposed a settlement, paying 13.5% of the requested amount, while reiterating that it could not recognize an employment relationship. When questioned about the organization of work and the algorithm managing the riders, Narvaez Gracia stated that he did not know the previous operational methods, the incentive mechanisms, nor any penalties for the couriers, asserting that, to his knowledge, “nothing happens.”
