Rome, 6 January (LaPresse) – "In terms of security, the Jubilee effort must take into account the institutional framework, the “Country System”, in which 70,000 officers from the State Police, the Carabinieri, the Finance Police, and the Prison Police, joined by the Local Police of Rome, Ares18 medical personnel, and volunteers, ensured the safety of 33 million pilgrims who travelled to Rome to take part in the Jubilee events. The pilgrims were able to appreciate the widespread presence of law enforcement agencies, with controls extending to the suburbs, but always based on dialogue. A security plan that was appreciated by the public thanks to the friendly approach of the police, which was the glue that held this security plan together'. These were the words of Rome's police chief Roberto Massucci in the Grandi Eventi room of the Rome Police Headquarters, where coordination is underway for the management of public order for the conclusion of the Jubilee of Hope, with the closing of the Holy Door of St Peter's Basilica.
