Turin, Dec. 30 (LaPresse) – Three people were injured and about one hundred were stranded at altitude on the cable car at Passo Moro in Macugnaga (Verbano-Cusio-Ossola). The alarm was raised this morning at around 11:25, when rescue services were alerted and are still at work. The three injured people were assisted and evacuated by air ambulance. According to initial information, 94 tourists and 5 employees are stranded at altitude in the Passo Moro area. The ski slopes have been closed and the lift service has been suspended. Firefighters are operating on site, engaged in assistance and evacuation activities. Further updates are expected in the coming hours. According to what has been reconstructed so far, a cabin arriving at the station reportedly hit a wall, causing injuries to three people. The impact also affected the other cabin arriving from the opposite direction.
