Campobasso, 29 December (LaPresse) – The Campobasso Public Prosecutor's Office is investigating the deaths of Antonella Di Ielsi, 50, and her 15-year-old daughter Sara Di Vita, who died between Saturday and Sunday at Cardarelli Hospital, suspected of being victims of severe food poisoning. Five people, including doctors and healthcare personnel, are listed in the register of suspects with charges that include multiple manslaughter. Investigators from the Mobile Squad have seized food, preserves and waste from the home in Pietracatella, where the family had eaten their Christmas meals, including mushrooms and clam shells. The Public Prosecutor's Office is analysing medical records and hospital reports to reconstruct the events. The husband and father, Gianni Di Vita, who had reported symptoms, is hospitalised at Spallanzani in stable condition, while the eldest daughter, 19, is asymptomatic.
