Rome, 26 November. (LaPresse) – The decision on the Roman Public Prosecutor's request to dismiss the latest investigation into the Ustica massacre has been postponed: on 27 June 1980, the Itavia DC9 aircraft was shot down and crashed into the Tyrrhenian Sea, causing 81 victims, in circumstances that – amid misdirection and obstruction of justice – have never been clarified. Investigating magistrate Livio Sabatini has set the hearing for 19 December. Members of the Association of Relatives of the Victims of the Massacre were present in the courtroom and reiterated once again that, among other things, the request for dismissal identified “the official presence of a French aircraft carrier that night, which France has always denied”. There is therefore evidence that “an exercise in the sky” was indeed taking place at the time of the Italian aircraft's crash.
