Genoa, 15 November (LaPresse) – Storms and even tornadoes in Genoa, where bad weather has caused damage, particularly in the western part of the city and in Val Polcevera. In Pegli, the Aurelia state road has been closed in both directions for about an hour and a half for repairs. The downburst, a weather phenomenon characterised by stormy rain mixed with strong gusts of wind, knocked down a truck parked on the side of the road, shattered windows and the structure of a seaside restaurant, with debris landing on the carriageway. Also in Pegli, a large landslide was reported in Via Nicoloso Da Recco, with the collapse of an embankment onto the road, which was closed for inspection by the fire brigade. No injuries or people involved were reported. Further west, in the Pra' area, the wind caused several containers to fall in the port areas of the VTE. The Pra' buffer zone was closed to pedestrians. Several minor waterways in Val Polcevera, including the Rio Fegino, were reported to have overflowed.
