Rome, 7 November (LaPresse) – Octav Stroici, the 66-year-old worker who was trapped for over eleven hours under the rubble of the partially collapsed Torre dei Conti, died from crushing trauma. This is what emerges from the initial results of the autopsy ordered by the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office. The victim was working on the restoration of the historic building when part of the construction site collapsed. The man died shortly after being transported to hospital, after being buried under the rubble for 11 hours. Negligent disaster, manslaughter and violations of workplace safety regulations are the offences being investigated by the Public Prosecutor's Office.
