Urban planning investigation in Milan, public prosecutor: ‘Catella-Malangone rigged tenders for public buildings’

Milan, 29 October. (LaPresse) – Manfredi Catella, general manager of the Municipality of Milan, Christian Malangone and former councillor of the Municipality of Milan, Giancarlo Tancredi, engaged in ‘blatant bid rigging’ to allow the company Coima to “win” areas and ‘properties belonging to the Municipality’ under ‘illegitimate urban planning conditions’. This was stated by the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office in its appeal to the Court of Cassation requesting the annulment of the orders with which the Milan Review Court revoked the real estate developer's house arrest in August in the investigation into corruption and forgery in Milan's urban planning. The appeal will be discussed, together with other cases such as that of architect Alessandro Scandurra and Bluestone owner Andrea Bezziccheri, on 12 November.
