Garlasco murder, Palmegiani (Sempio's consultant): ‘My words have been misrepresented’

Rome, 3 October (LaPresse) – "I have not changed my mind about Andrea Sempio's innocence. I was always convinced of it, even before I was appointed defence consultant. My words have been misrepresented and used instrumentally because they were taken out of context from an interview I gave, where I say the opposite. It is only 6 seconds where I talk about DNA and fingerprint 33, stating the exact opposite." This is what Armando Palmegiani, the former State Police officer appointed as technical consultant by Andrea Sempio's defence team after the resignation of former RIS general Luciano Garofano, told LaPresse. Palmegiani has a thirty-year career in the State Police, where, after holding an important position for years in the Scientific Police of the Rome Police Headquarters, he moved to the homicide section of the Mobile Squad of the Capitoline Police Headquarters, where he dealt with important crimes such as that of the three prostitutes killed in the Prati district by Gian Davide de Pau. ‘With Sempio's defence team, we are reviewing all the documents from the investigation and trial that led to Alberto Stasi's conviction,’ added Palmegiani.
