Bologna, October 2 (LaPresse) – A group of protesters gathered in front of Bologna’s central station in support of the Global Sumud Flotilla and its activists, recently detained by the Israeli army. "Shame! Shame!" are among the slogans shouted by the mainly student crowd. "Students will not back down because today our hearts are bursting with anger," and "Let us through," they shouted at the police officers. At one point, law enforcement used batons to block the entrance. The protesters supporting the Global Sumud Flotilla tried to enter the station, but security measures prevented them. Eggs and smoke bombs were thrown by protesters at the police and carabinieri guarding the entrance. The crowd attempted to break through the police cordon, who responded with batons to push them back.
