Campi Flegrei: 2.7 magnitude earthquake, epicentre in Pozzuoli

Naples, 2 October (LaPresse) – An earthquake measuring 2.7 on the Richter scale struck the Campi Flegrei area at 7.57 p.m. The epicentre was located by the Vesuvius Observatory of the INGV in the municipality of Pozzuoli, not far from Solfatara. The tremor, which occurred at a depth of 3 km, was felt by the population in the vicinity of the epicentre. No damage to people or property has been reported. A seismic swarm has been underway in the Campi Flegrei area since 4:38 p.m. today, with about 20 earthquakes detected by the Vesuvian Observatory.
