Rome, 1 October (LaPresse) – "I hope that everything will proceed calmly and rationally, without any problems. The boats are surrounded and should be taken to the port of Ashdod, where each country will then take steps to bring its own nationals home. The important thing is that what happens in the next hour takes place without violence, without anyone getting hurt, without any risk. Both the crews and the Israeli authorities are prepared. We have been following the situation for days, both as the Ministry of Defence and as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and after many sleepless nights, we are waiting for this to end." This was stated by Defence Minister Guido Crosetto in an interview with Tg1 regarding the flotilla.
