Rome, 28 September (LaPresse) – ‘I am delighted to announce that on 1 November, as part of the Jubilee for the World of Education, I will confer the title of Doctor of the Church on St John Henry Newman, who made a decisive contribution to the renewal of theology and to the understanding of Christian doctrine in its development.’ Pope Leo XIV made the announcement before reciting the Angelus in St Peter's Square.
