Madrid (Spain), 25 September. (LaPresse) – The Italian delegation of the Global Movement to Gaza, on behalf of the Steering Committee of the Global Sumud Flotilla, ‘informs the Italian authorities that it does not accept the proposal received yesterday regarding a possible diversion of aid to Cyprus, to then deliver it to Gaza with the involvement of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem’. The activists announced this in a statement, emphasising that ‘the mission remains faithful to its original objective of breaking the illegal siege and delivering humanitarian aid to the besieged population of Gaza, victims of genocide and ethnic cleansing’. ‘Any attack or obstruction of the mission would constitute a serious violation of international law and an act of defiance of the provisional order of the International Court of Justice requiring Israel to facilitate humanitarian aid to Gaza,’ warns the Italian delegation of the Global Movement to Gaza.
